Lou Alsobrooks joined Smith Harris and Carr in 2013 as an Associate. Alsobrooks focuses his government relations practice in the areas of business, workers' compensation, healthcare, housing and development, and procurement. Lou also serves as the firm's lead researcher, helping Smith Harris and Carr's clients find answers to complex legislative and regulatory questions. In addition to his government relations practice, Alsobrooks enjoys working on statewide Republican campaigns.
Alsobrooks grew up in Dickson, Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and obtained his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL. Prior to joining Smith Harris and Carr, Alsobrooks practiced real estate and probate law at Banker's Title and Escrow in Nashville, TN. Before law school, Lou worked in a variety of roles at Renasant Bank in Nashville, TN.
Lou and his wife Lida reside in Nashville, TN with their two semi-trained dogs Knox and Scout. When Lou is away from the office, he enjoys hunting at the family farm in Houston County, Tennessee. On Saturdays in the Fall, it's a safe bet that you'll find Lou in Knoxville, TN rooting on his beloved University of Tennessee Volunteers football team from the stands in Neyland Stadium. Being a lifelong UT football fan, Lou can best be described as an eternal optimist.
