Estie Harris began lobbying the Tennessee General Assembly in 1987 when she joined the administration of then Governor Ned McWherter. Her only stint away from Nashville’s Capitol Hill was two years in Washington, D.C., as Chief of Staff for former U. S. Senator Harlan Mathews, who had been named to replace Vice-President Gore for the remaining two years of Gore’s Senate term. Harris' broad experience in both the executive and legislative branches of government has greatly benefited the clients she has served since joining the firm in 1994. She understands the inner-workings of state government and enjoys close contacts with many long-term state officials and employees. Clients and legislators alike appreciate Harris’ knowledge, compassion, and attention to detail in the political process. She has the ability to switch gears rapidly and does her homework on client issues. She has impacted issues as diverse as farm credit, special payments to hospitals, and mental health insurance benefits.

In her “other life,” Harris serves on numerous community boards and associations, participates in local charitable fundraising efforts, and is involved with her church.

She is married and has two young sons. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Harris graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in agricultural economics.
